"Nashville has been a very productive market for us, and it had become apparent that we needed a full-time sales presence there," Ramsey said. "The owner of Sifford had decided to retire and wanted to sell the business, and so acquiring it seemed the perfect solution."
Ramsey said the current St. Louis-based VSG sales person covering the Nashville market, Greg Shriner, will move there and operate out of the former Sifford business. In addition, he said, the company has hired a new sales person in Nashville. For 2007, about 20 percent of the company's total revenue came from the Nashville market.
Revenues at VSG have doubled since 2000 when the company transitioned into CD/DVD replication and duplication. Company co-founder and president Chris Ramsey said he expects revenue to increase another 25% in 2009 as a result of the Sifford acquisition and several other expansion moves VSG has made recently. One of the other 2008 expansions was the formation of a new subsidiary, Integrated Systems Group, a full-service audio/video/lighting dealer and systems integrator. |
